How browser-based processing works here
When you add PDF files here, they're read directly into your browser's memory. The merge itself happens using your device's own processing power — your files are never transmitted anywhere, and the combined PDF is built and offered to you as a direct download.
- No file upload endpoint exists on this page
- No database or server-side file storage
- Output is generated locally as a browser Blob file
Supported files: Standard PDF files of any page count. Files that are password-protected or encrypted can't currently be merged — they need to be unlocked first.
Honest limitations
- Password-protected PDFs need to be removed or unlocked elsewhere before merging in the MVP.
- Combining very large PDFs may take longer on older phones and laptops.
- Document-level features like bookmarks/outlines, interactive form fields, and metadata (title, author) are not preserved when merging — page content, including links and page rotation, does carry over.

Troubleshooting
A file won't add to the list
Confirm it's a .pdf file and not a scanned image saved under a different extension. Rename or re-export it as a PDF and try again.
The merge seems stuck on a large batch of files
Very large combined files take longer on older devices. Give it a moment, or try merging in two smaller batches.
The file order isn't what I expected
Drag the files in the list into the exact order before pressing Merge — the final PDF follows that list order exactly.

There's no artificial limit set by us. Processing capacity depends on your device, browser, file size, and page count.
Can I merge password-protected PDFs?
Not in the current version. Remove the password from each file first, then merge them here.
Will merging reduce the quality of my PDFs?
No. Pages are copied into the new file as-is, so text and images keep their original quality.
Does this work on iPhone and Android?
Yes. Merge PDF works in mobile browsers on iPhone and Android as well as desktop browsers — the interface adjusts for touch.
