Convert PDF to A4 Online

Standardize every page of a PDF to A4 — the paper size used across Europe and most of the world outside North America. Useful when a document was assembled from pages of different sizes, was built for US Letter and needs to go to an A4 recipient, or just needs one consistent size before printing or archiving. Fit keeps every page fully visible on the A4 sheet; Fill fills the sheet edge to edge.

How browser-based processing works here

Each selected page is redrawn — as vector content, not a rasterized image — onto a new A4 page directly in your browser's memory. Pages you don't select are left completely untouched. Nothing about your document is ever transmitted anywhere.

  • No file upload endpoint exists on this page
  • No database or server-side file storage
  • Output is generated locally as a browser Blob file

Supported files: Standard, non-encrypted PDF files. Encrypted or password-protected PDFs aren't currently supported.

Honest limitations

  • Pages keep their original proportions — there is no option to stretch or distort a page to fill A4 exactly.
  • Interactive form fields, annotations, comments, links, and bookmarks are not preserved on a converted page — only its visible vector content and images are redrawn onto the new A4 page.
  • Very high page counts (200+) can take noticeably longer on older phones.

No artificial daily task limits. Processing capacity depends on your device, browser, file size, and page count.

Troubleshooting

My content looks smaller after converting to A4

That's Fit preserving your full page with empty margins around it, usually because the source page had different proportions than A4. Switch to Fill if you'd rather have content reach every edge (it may crop slightly).

I need A4 in millimeters or inches, not points

A4 is 210 × 297mm (8.27 × 11.69in) — the PDF itself stores this internally as 595.28 × 841.89 points, which is what every PDF viewer and printer reads correctly regardless of the units you think in.

Some pages ended up landscape and others portrait

That's automatic orientation matching each source page's own shape. Choose Portrait or Landscape instead of Auto to force every converted page to the same orientation.

Frequently asked questions

What is A4 size in mm and inches?

A4 is 210 × 297mm, or 8.27 × 11.69 inches — the international standard paper size (ISO 216) used across Europe, Asia, and most countries outside North America.

What's the difference between A4 and US Letter?

A4 (210 × 297mm) is taller and narrower than US Letter (8.5 × 11in / 215.9 × 279.4mm). Content sized for one won't align perfectly on the other, which is why converting matters when sending a document across regions.

Will converting to A4 crop or distort my content?

Fit never crops or distorts — it scales your page to fit fully inside A4, preserving its proportions. Fill scales to cover the entire A4 sheet, which may crop a small amount from the longer edge, but never stretches or distorts.

Can I convert only some pages to A4?

Yes — select specific pages and only those are resized to A4; every other page is copied through completely unchanged.
